What to verify

Country match

The Play account country or region must match the country where the card or code was offered.

Currency match

The gift card currency must match the Play Store currency. A different currency is not a cosmetic difference.

Physical proof

For unreadable or disputed physical cards, Google may request the card back with serial number visible and the receipt.

Activation

A physical card bought at a store may require retailer activation. Google cannot activate it on the retailer’s behalf.

Official and primary sources

Issuer policies can change. Open the source before making a decision that depends on current redemption or support terms.
